In our Tyrolean cottage garden, herbs, vegetables and flowers grow in tune with the seasons – organically, sustainably and full of flavour.
It’s less than 50 metres from the cottage garden to the farm kitchen. What’s harvested in the morning will enhance your gourmet meal in the evening.
Herbs and medicinal plants
Our cottage garden is a veritable treasure trove, with over 40 different medicinal and culinary herbs. Many of these have been used in Tyrolean folk medicine for centuries.
Culinary herbs:
- basil, thyme, rosemary, sage
- Parsley, chives, dill, coriander
- Mint, lemon balm, oregano, marjoram
Alpine medicinal herbs:
- Arnica, St John’s wort, yarrow
- Calendula, chamomile, lavender
- Comfrey, ribwort plantain, stinging nettle
We plan your daily menu according to the season. The morning’s harvest inspires the day’s creations. This results in fresh, flavourful and authentic dishes – awarded a rating by Gault & Millau.
Our cottage garden is also the perfect spot for a picnic. Nestled amongst the fragrant flowerbeds and with a view of the mountains, your meal will be a special experience for all the senses. In our farm picnic basket you’ll find:
- A bottle of Grosslehen Rosé sparkling wine from the Hahn Winery
- Still or sparkling spring water
- Fruit juice
- A ‘Marende’ with sweet and savoury surprises in various jars, served in true country style
- Freshly baked farmhouse bread
