Markus and Bettina both grew up on their parents’ farms, which is why they have a deep-seated connection to nature and animals. Bettina joined the Geisl family in 2008; they got married in 2010, and that’s when things really took off: wellness facilities, guest rooms and chalets – all brand new. Our Grosslehen project really got into full swing!

Our Farm Hotel Team
Every day, we work for our Grosslehen with a great deal of passion, humour and dedication. At lunchtime, we eat together, have a laugh and, every now and then, talk about something other than the hotel. Come and meet our team!
The ‘youngsters’ work every day to realise our shared dream. They all have experience in tourism, plenty of creativity and different approaches. Together, they will shape and lead Grosslehen in the future. Always in our hearts: our late Grandma Vroni. She was the beginning for all of us; these three are our future.
To be honest: without Annemarie and Martina, we’d probably have to close down. Markus’s two older sisters have always looked after the Grosslehen with great passion and the utmost dedication – in the past, today, and hopefully for years to come. Our guests know this and hold these two ladies in particularly high regard!
A handy guide for our guests
Who belongs to whom?
Our Grosslehen family is a big one – there are lots of names to remember. To help you out a bit, we’ve put together a brief overview.
- Markus is the host and, above all, the farmer at the Grosslehen farm. He is the younger brother of Annemarie and Martina.
- Bettina is Markus’s wife and the face of the guesthouse. She joined the Grosslehen family in 2008 and is originally from near Schwaz in Tyrol – you can tell by her accent.
- Hannah & Laura are sisters; they’re Annemarie’s daughters and actually look quite similar – which is the biggest challenge for our guests ;)
- Alex is Hannah’s partner – officially since 2026 – comes from Kitzbühel and is our passionate musician.
- Annemarie is Markus’s sister and the mother of Laura, Hannah and Leni. She’s always ready to listen to our guests’ requests.
- Martina – the heart and soul of the house – is Markus and Annemarie’s sister. She grew up at the Grosslehen and knows every nook and cranny of the house inside out.
- Leni is Hannah and Laura’s little sister. She knows her way around perfectly well, even though she (unfortunately) doesn’t work here.

Running a family business isn’t always easy – but that’s exactly what makes it so special. We work and live together on our farm, share our daily lives and are very close to one another.
It is precisely this sense of togetherness and warm camaraderie that defines the atmosphere at the Farmhotel & Chalets Grosslehen.

Obituary for our Grandma Vroni
Veronika “Vroni” Geisl – our mum, granny and senior manager – will always remain the heart of the Grosslehen. She was a woman full of strength and zest for life, whose loving nature shaped our establishment for decades.
As the strong foundation of the family business, she not only passed on her farming knowledge but also laid the foundations for this special place, which many today experience as a place of healing close to nature.
Grandma Vroni was a hostess through and through, a passionate cook and an impressive visionary who lived by tradition whilst also making new things possible.
We shall miss her dearly. Yet Grandma Vroni lives on in our memories.
She remains in our hearts – today, tomorrow and forever.
